How do we prepare students for Kindergarten?

RRBC Weekday Preschool offers one of the BEST Pre-K programs in Raleigh!

Here's What You Can Expect in the Pre-K Classes:

The Creative Curriculum for Early Childhood:  Philosophy is that young children learn best by doing.  Most important goal:  Help children become enthusiastic learners.

Handwriting Without Tears Curriculum:  Pre-K readiness and writing using multisensory strategies; build betinning habits for letter/number formation and work on age-appropriate hand skills, crayon grip, etc.  Also included:  simple addition and subtraction; recognition of geometric shapes; and small group games that include counting, alphabet Bingo, and memory practice.

Letterland Curriculum: Child-friendly phonics-based curriculum with a unique approach to teaching reading, writing, and spelling to ages 3-8. It transforms “plain black letter shapes into child-friendly pictograms” where the letters “all live in an imaginary place called Letterland.”  Simple stories about the characters explain the full range of phonics facts so children are motivated to listen, think, and learn.

Literacy and writing activities: journals, free writing, sounding out words, etc.

Conscious Discipline: Integrates social-emotional learning, discipline, and self-regulation. It encompasses components scientifically and practically designed for success. Pre-K teachers respond to daily conflict in a way that creates opportunity to teach critical life skills such as problem-solving, compassion, and safety.
