Penny has a B.S. in elementary education with a current North Carolina teaching certificate through the Wake County Board of Education. She has been at the Ridge Road Preschool for over 21 years. Penny has two married daughters who live in this area and two granddaughters who attend RRBC Preschool. She lives with her husband of 33 years in Clayton, NC.

Mrs. Cecilia S. Davis. | Administrative Assistant

Cecilia attended Fayetteville Technical Community College.  Cecilia and her husband Luther live in Cary and have been married for 41 years.  Cecilia and Luther have two grown sons and five grandchildren. Cecilia is a native of Bladenboro, NC.  Cecilia enjoys talking walks, reading, and shopping. Cecilia and Luther are members of Westwood Baptist Church in Cary.

Rev. Jennifer Ingold Asbill | Email

Jennifer is a native of Greensboro, NC, and an alumna of Meredith College. She is now on the cusp of completing her Master of Divity degree from Duke Divinity School, and will graduate on May 10, 2008. She has served in 3 previous church positions across NC. Her parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins all live in Greensboro, NC and her brother is at Appalachian State University. Tucker (the fat cat) and Domino (the troublemaking cat) keep her company in her time off along with her husband, Seth, who is not fat but is a notorious troublemaker. She was licensed to ministry by her home church, College Park Baptist Church of Greensboro and was recently ordained by Ridge Road Baptist Church. Alongside her student and ministry work, Jennifer was recently invited to serve on the state board of Baptist Women in Ministry of North Carolina. Jennifer has been with the church staff since September of 2004.

The newest addition to our ministry staff, Patti is a woman who brings extraordinary gifts and experience to her ministry here at Ridge Road. A native of Lynchburg, VA, Patti is a 1982 summa cum laude graduate of James Madison University with a Bachelor of Music (Organ Performance) degree, and was awarded a Master of Divinity the gospel ministry by Lowes Grove Baptist Church in Durham, NC, and has served numerous churches in the Triangle over twenty years. Patti and her husband, Steven, make their home in Durham with their daughter, Hannah. Their son, Charles, is a student at NC State Univeristy.


Rev. Dr. Mack Thompson | Pastor | Email

Mack Thompson has been pastor of Ridge Road for nearly twenty years. He cam back to his hometown in 1988 after having served as pastor of churches in Laurinburg, Warsaw, and Warrenton. Serving in this long-term pastorate has given him a wonderful opportunity to minister in this multigenerational congregation. Dr. Thompson loves preaching and teaching and reaching out to people in their times of need. After graduating from Needham Broughton High School, he earned degrees at Campbell University (Bachelor of Arts) and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminar (Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry). he is active in Baptist life, having served as moderator of the Raleigh Baptist Association and as member of trustee boards of Meredith College, Baptist Retirement Home, and currently Chowan University. He and his wife Carol have two grown children and four grandchildren. They both ejoy reading, taking walks, and trying to beat each other at Scrabble.
