We believe everyone has unique gifts to give to the church. Through Ridge Road’s many ministries, we can utilize those individual skills to enrich our church, local, and global communities.

Whether you’re a young couple, a retired couple, a college student, a working professional, unemployed, or anyone in between, there is a place for you at RRBC. We currently have two adult groups that meet on Sunday mornings at 9:45AM. We invite you to visit a meeting with either group any time, or, email the group leaders below with any questions.
The Two-Steves Class (meets in the Hut): This class of younger adults uses a discussion format on contemporary issues using Biblical wisdom and insight with spiritual reflection. Using a variety of resources, the group enjoys an open minded and open hearted atmosphere. Email Steve Jolly or Steve Sumerel for more.
Seeker’s & Koinonia Class (meets in the Conference Room)

The music ministry is led by the Minister of Music, Jill Knight and all are invited to join regardless of age or experience.
The Chancel Choir leads us in worship each Sunday with special anthems and musical arrangements. Practice is held on weekly during the school year.
Our handbell choir participates in worship during special services. Whether you’ve rang before or not, we invite you to take part in this unique form of worship music.

A core element of RRBC’s identity is giving back to the community. Through our Missions ministry, we are able to give both physical service and financial service to various groups across the globe.
We host frequent service projects that allow us to participate in hands-on mission experiences. Our annual Rise Against Hunger event packages 15,000+ meals that travel thousands of miles for children in need. We also host an annual refugee Thanksgiving meal through Welcome House Raleigh.
Financially, we support many local, national, and global groups that share our desire to make a direct impact in communities in need.

Children are a beloved and important part of our congregation. They are involved in all aspects of church life, including serving on church committees and boards. Children are welcome to attend and participate in any church event, including intergenerational bible studies, small groups, choir, and regular Sunday worship.
We appreciate and love the giggles and wiggles of children in worship, but we also absolutely understand if you would rather place your child in our provided childcare during the worship hour. Our childcare is in partnership with Common Thread Church, who also meets on our campus on Sunday mornings. We invite you to visit their website to see more about Sunday childcare.

If you are feeling a deeper calling to get connected at RRBC, there are a multitude of opportunities to serve the church. As a historically baptist church, we are self-governing and self-supporting. We are led by a group of dedicated deacons and a church council. Many members utilize their talents for service on our financial team, fellowship and social team, or Sunday morning A/V team. Our church leadership includes all genders and all ages. These people are an incredible asset to ensuring the continued love and care of our church members and community.
CHurch-wide expereinces
Our congregation is close-knit and intergenerational. Alongside our separate and unique ministries, we offer regular opportunities for everyone to come together in times outside of our Sunday morning pews.
Worship opportunities
Our God is mysterious and manifold, and we seek to worship in a variety of ways. Outside of our regular Sunday morning services, RRBC offers several special worship opportunities throughout the year. These are often approachable services, tailored for those who need a more tangible and hands-on experience.

Twice a year, our church gathers for an evening vespers service. These services tend to be more intimate and often use elements of worship that we might not include on a Sunday morning. They’ll also feature more familiar elements, including music, prayer, and scripture. Through our vespers services, we hope to praise and to seek God in new ways, to be drawn together as a community, and to be moved personally.

Changing our environment during Sunday worship draws us closer together physically and spiritually. These services offer us new perspectives on worship and our community of faith as we move to the fellowship hall and shift from pews to a circle of chairs.

The Sunday following Easter, we gather early to share a meal around the table while we worship. It’s a tradition since the days of the early church: sharing food with one another is a sacred act, one marked by generosity and vulnerability.

A service where we contemplate melodies, harmonies, and tempos as we consider how music speaks to our faith in ways that words alone cannot. We consider tunes that don’t traditionally make their way into worship experiences.
Intergenerational Bible studies
We believe that church goers of all ages have important insight and ideas to share. Four times a year (once per season), we offer an intergenerational bible study. Each study focuses on a different topic and are open to all. Some studies are taught by our staff while others utilize the expertise of outside teachers. The bible studies typically begin with a shared meal and time of fellowship followed by a lesson and group discussion.
Connecting with our neighbors through The Ridge
As our church has changed and adapted, we have decided to welcome our neighbors in a radical way. The Ridge is a ministry arm of RRBC that opens our campus to other congregations, nonprofits, arts groups, and more that need a space to meet. We currently have 5 unique and independent church congregations meeting on our campus on Sunday mornings. Throughout the week, you’ll notice the buzz of voice and dance lessons, cultural arts classes, meetings for local clubs, and after school preschool camps.
Through The Ridge, we offer a multitude of campus and community-wide opportunities for connection. Examples of these include our donate-what-you-can outdoor concert series, trivia nights, mission projects, and more.
